Kammaland Primary School – Learner Code of Conduct

Every learner has the right to learn in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. This Code
of Conduct applies at school, during school activities, in school uniform, and whenever a learner
is associated with Kammaland Primary.

Our Core Expectations
Learners are expected to:

  • Attend school and classes regularly and on time.
  • Wear the correct school uniform neatly.
  • Treat everyone with respect and courtesy.
  • Care for school property and others’ belongings.
  • Follow school rules and teacher instructions.
  • Aim for excellence in academics, sport, and conduct.
  • Use kind and respectful language.
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment.

Bullying
Kammaland Primary has a zero tolerance policy for bullying—whether physical, verbal, psychological, or online.
Examples include:

  • Hitting, pushing, or damaging belongings.
  • Name-calling, teasing, threats, or spreading rumours.
  • Purposefully excluding someone.
  • Posting hurtful messages online.

If you see bullying:

  • Speak up – tell the person to stop.
  • Report it to a teacher or staff member immediately.
  • Support others who are treated unfairly.

Substance-Free School
Our school is a drug- and alcohol-free zone.
Learners may not:

  • Use, possess, or be under the influence of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or any banned substances.
  • Sell, share, or offer such substances to others.
  • Use steroids or performance-enhancing drugs.

Important:

  • The school may conduct random testing and searches (in line with the law).
  • Parents will be informed if there is a positive result.
  • Selling or distributing drugs may result in expulsion and police involvement.

Unacceptable Behaviour
Not allowed at Kammaland:

  • Bullying or harassment.
  • Fighting or violence.
  • Theft or vandalism.
  • Carrying weapons.
  • Smoking or vaping.
  • Sexual harassment or misconduct.
  • Discrimination of any kind.
  • Repeated refusal to follow rules.

Consequences

  • Consequences match the seriousness of the behaviour.
  • Parents are informed for serious matters.
  • Suspension or expulsion may apply for severe misconduct.
  • Learners may have to repair or replace damaged property.

Rights & Responsibilities
Learners have the right to:

  • Feel safe and respected.
  • Learn and grow.
  • Be valued as individuals.

Learners have the responsibility to:

  • Respect themselves and others.
  • Show kindness, empathy, and fairness.
  • Make choices that build a positive school community.

At Kammaland Primary, we focus on positive behaviour, respect, and teamwork, so every learner can thrive.
