Our Story (and why we're here)

Most schools talk about "excellence," but at Kammaland College, we’re more interested in what that actually looks like in the real world. Based right here in Greytown, we’ve built a space where "Ad Astra Per Aspera" (To the stars through hard work) is more than just a motto on a blazer, it’s how we live.

We know the world is changing faster than the textbooks can keep up with. That’s why we don't just teach kids what to think, but how to think. From our littlest ones in Grade R to our high schoolers, we focus on a mix of high-tech skills, critical thinking, and the kind of old-school grit it takes to solve big problems.

We’re a safe, happy, and slightly "outside-the-box" school where your child is seen as an individual, not just a desk number. We’re here to help them find their feet, find their voice, and eventually, find their way to the stars.

Our Motto: "Ad astra per aspera" 

is a Latin phrase translating to through hardships to the stars". It means achieving greatness, success, or "reaching the stars" requires overcoming significant challenges, difficulties, and obstacles. It is often used as a motto for perseverance and inspiration.

Our classrooms are spaces of discovery. Following the CAPS curriculum (or your specific curriculum), our educators use interactive methods to ensure that every learner—from the Foundation Phase to the Intermediate Phase—grasps core concepts with confidence.
